Train-the-Trainer – UML 2, SysML, BPMN, DoDAF
& Requirements
|
If your company or organization wants to develop "in
house" modeling expertise, you will generally find that
PivotPoint can accelerate your progress by providing a
complementary mix of training and
mentoring services. For
example, many of our clients begin by training their staffs
with one or more introductory workshops, followed with
basic mentoring services, followed by advanced
workshops, followed by more advanced mentoring services.
However, we recognize that some large organizations
may need to train large numbers (hundreds) of
technical staff in Model-Driven Engineering
technologies, and may want to train their own Subject
Matter Experts (SMEs)for this purpose.
What is the
Train-the-Trainer program?
PivotPoint's Train-the-Trainer program can help your
organization develop internal Model-Driven Engineering
training capabilities in two ways:
- License PivotPoint MDE workshop training
materials so that you don't need to develop your
own course content.
- Train your internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
to teach the MDE workshops for which you are
licensing training materials.
Organizations interested in applying for our Train-the-Trainer program
should meet the following requirements:
- Select a PivotPoint MDE workshop in which
your staff have previously participated for
Train-the-Trainer.
- There is no point in considering this
special program if your staff is not already
convinced that PivotPoint's training techniques and materials are
effective and superior to those of the competition.
- Your organization must have a large number of technical
staff that you want to train.
- Train-the-Trainer is generally cost
effective only if you have a large number of
staff that you want to train (typically in
excess of 200).
- Your organization must have available
candidate trainers who are both skilled modelers and
trainers.
- In general you should have 6+ technical
staff who have
already aced the relevant workshop previously and also
have solid teaching skills.
Train-the-Trainer
Workshop Approach and Content
PivotPoint applies the same standards for subject matter
expertise and teaching skills to your candidate
instructors as it does to its own instructors. All
Train-the-Trainer candidates will participate in an
intensive 5-day workshop that consists of two parts:
- Part 1: Developing and Refining Subject
Matter Expertise
(2.5 days: Monday morning - Wednesday midday)
- This is a compressed version of the MDE
workshop that you organization has selected,
where the candidate instructors will be taught
by a master instructor and will have full access
to Instructor Notes for all slides.
- Part 2: Developing and Refining Teaching
Skills
(2.5 days: Wednesday midday - Friday afternoon)
- Adult learning theory
- Corporate training methods
- MDE training techniques
- Conflict and issue resolution
- Access to PivotPoint SMEs
Customization: All of our workshops can be customized to meet your
specific team and project training needs.
Venues: Train-the-Trainer workshops are available
onsite or at PivotPoint training facilities.
Scheduling and Cost: The Train-the-Trainer
program is highly selective and should be scheduled at
least two months in advance. The costs for the
Train-the-Trainer program are dependent upon the number
of trainers you want to train, and the number of
technical staff you want to train.
If your organization meets the requirements described
above, and you would like more information about our
